The transportation of bulky and heavy loads for the building and landscaping industries are just some of the demanding tasks that our WORKHORSE range of trailers are asked to perform daily and they are built with this in mind. This professional range has a fully welded and hot dipped galvanised construction, fitted with an hydraulic coupling, full-width galvanised beam axles complete with independent rubber suspension and auto-reversing brakes, meeting EEC directive No. 71/320 that ensure controlled towing and the smoothest of rides, whether fully loaded or empty. The range also boasts a heavy duty, resin coated plywood floor and to optimise the load it has 16” high profiled sides for maximum strength as standard, with the option of mesh extensions to fully capitalise on its potential.

The "84" series of Richardson WORKHORSE General Purpose trailers has a generous deck size of 8’ x 4’4” to enable easy and painless transportation and unloading of 8’ x 4’ panels, such as plasterboard.

To complement this professional range of trailers we have introduced our smallest trailer, the un-braked 64GPU, for the domestic market. With a maximum gross weight of 750kgs we have designed a trailer strong and rugged enough to withstand regular use, yet light enough to be towed behind any standard family car or small van.

Repairs and Services

Just as with your towing vehicle, it is best practise to keep your trailer regularly maintained, with a thorough service recommended at least once a year. If you want to keep your trailer in a safe and legal condition, we have a team of experienced engineers at your disposal. Please ring the office on 01904 470282 to book an appointment.

In the unfortunate event of an accident, we can get your trailer back on the road, and you back to work quicker than you can say, "Time is money!". If your trailer is involved in an accident, we can offer a collection and delivery service to the factory, where a damage report can be quickly compiled and the cost of repair estimated. In some cases, we can even supply you with a trailer from our hire fleet to keep you going whilst yours is off the road. Our staff have many years experience dealing with all aspects of repair work, including the preparation of insurance claims and liaising with insurance companies, leaving you to get on with what you do best: earning money. We are only a phone call away.

Spare Parts

Handy with a spanner? If you are an experienced mechanic, or just need a small part to get you back up and running, we can supply you with a multitude of spares, for most trailer models dating back many years, many available ex-stock and shippable within 24 hours of order. Trailer Hire

We know that not everybody needs a trailer every day, so no matter whether you want a trailer for 24 hours, a weekend, a week or six months, we have a model and tariff to suit your requirements. The whole fleet is maintained regularly to guarantee safety and reliability, and novices to towing are given basic instruction and guidelines to help them on their way.

The hire fleet is also available on a "TRY B 4 U BUY" scheme, whereby, if you want to convince yourself that a certain model of trailer really is the one for you, then you can hire the trailer for a short spell, and if you proceed to buy, we will refund the hire charge; you can't say fairer than that!
